#repost • @consciousnessalah9 "The Torus is arguably among the core sacred geometry symbols. It is a graphical representation of the balance between spirit and matter, which only happens when energy is aligned. The basic form of the Torus explains the ascent from matter to the spirit or the descent from spirit to matter through a tube of consciousness, energy, or light. It is believed that an object’s energy can only go so far in a single direction before doubling back and returning to its source."

#repost • @wired Take a good look. What do you see? If you guessed every known thing in the solar system with a diameter bigger than 10 kilometers, you're—incredibly—right! [Want more science news? Follow our @WIREDScience account]

Eleanor Lutz created this image using a combination of five different data sets. A biologist moonlighting as a data-driven illustrator, she at first struggled with distinguishing all the different orbits. Every scale she tried ended up smushing the asteroids into the planets or leaving out asteroids that were farther away from the sun. The universe, she explains, isn’t arranged by linear distances. Instead, it’s logarithmic, with exponentially more objects situated close to the sun.
-
Lutz made use of this observation to space out their various orbits, including those of 18,000 asteroids and comets.

This image helps to visualize the holographic nature of the proton where the quantum vacuum fluctuations at the Planck scale holographically encodes the baryonic matter (mass) of the entire universe inside of it's tiny spherical volume...

#🥃 #repost @wired - Professor Stuart Williams is a whiskey scientist! ....well, kind of. Using whiskey, water, and a microscopic lens, Williams is able to capture gorgeous images like this one. -
To capture these photographs, Williams takes diluted bourbon whiskey and evaporates very small drops of it—1.0 microliter, to be specific—on a glass surface. (For context, a 1 ounce shot will contain approximately 30,000 microliter drops.) As he explains it, when you dilute whiskey with water, its insoluble components form what are called nanoscopic agglomerates. As the droplet of diluted whiskey evaporates, the nanoscopic agglomerates form thin monolayers at the point where the liquid meets the air, and these monolayers are manipulated by violent vortices caused by the ethanol evaporation. This results in wrinkled structures that form the web-like structures you see here, which Williams calls “whiskey webs”. -
Each whiskey provides their own unique chemical “cocktail” of agglomerates, making the pattern you see here unique to this specific sample of whiskey, and can be replicated by using different droplets from the same bottle. 📸: Stuart Williams

#repost • @wired Happy Pi Day! The digits of Pi are built into every circle—even when it's a little difficult to see at first. Take any circle, divide the circumference by the diameter and you always get Pi.
-
This image is a visualization of the first 1,000 digits of Pi, shown as links between successive digits. The 10 different segments around the circle each represent a digit 0 through 9. For each pair of adjacent digits in Pi, the curves in the center of the circle connect a pair of segments associated with these digits. For example, the "14" in "3.14..." is drawn as a link from segment 1 to segment 4.
-
The big purple splotch at the top is known as the Feynman Point, the point at digit 762 of Pi where six 9's appear in succession. To read more about how this stunning visualization was created, visit the link in our bio.

This glowing space phantasm is ngc 6543, better known as the Cat’s Eye Nebula, located 3,262 light years from Earth. It's a planetary nebula, the result of Sun-like stars ejecting their outer gas layers. There are many theories on what creates this distinctive visual pattern—some scientists believe it’s the effect of the central star’s magnetic activity, while others believe that the rings were later by‑products created by wave formations in the gas. Whatever the case, this nebula is rapidly expanding. To see more breathtaking space photos, at the link in our bio. 📸: @nasa

SPOTTED: Astronomers discovered a special kind of neutron star for the first time outside of the Milky Way galaxy! ⭐️ Neutron stars like this one spotted by our @nasachandraxray telescope are formed when a massive star runs out of fuel and collapses. The very central region of the star – the core – collapses, crushing together every proton and electron into a neutron. If the core of the collapsing star is between about 1 and 3 solar masses, these newly-created neutrons can stop the collapse, leaving behind a neutron star.Since neutron stars began their existence as stars, they are found scattered throughout the galaxy in the same places where we find stars. And like stars, they can be found by themselves or in binary systems with a companion. Our data suggests that this neutron star is a rare variety that has both a low magnetic field and no stellar companion. Future observations at X-ray, optical, and radio wavelengths will help astronomers learn more about how this neutron star ended up in its current position outside our galaxy.

Did you know that stellar explosions and their remains -- “supernova remnants” -- are a source of chemical elements essential for life here on Earth? A new Chandra X-ray Observatory image captures the location of several vital elements like silicon (red), sulfur (yellow), calcium (green) and iron (purple), located on Cassiopeia A -- a supernova remnant ~11,000 light years from Earth.
Chandra’s sharp X-ray vision allows astronomers to gather detailed information about the elements that objects like Cas A produce. For example, they are not only able to identify many of the elements that are present, but how much of each are being expelled into interstellar space.
Oxygen is the most abundant element in the human body (about 65% by mass), calcium helps form and maintain healthy bones and teeth, and iron is a vital part of red blood cells that carry oxygen through the body. All of the oxygen in the Solar System comes from exploding massive stars. About half of the calcium and about 40% of the iron also come from these explosions, with the balance of these elements being supplied by explosions of smaller mass, white dwarf stars.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be queen.
